THODDOO, RASDHOO, UKULHAS DIVE SITES

Our dive center is situated on Thoddoo island, Alif Alif atoll, north-east to Ari atoll. This is one the most famous diving destination in the Maldives. The beauty of this island is combined with a number of great dive sites reachable in 15-60 min of boat ride. We also organize trips to remote destinations such as Baa atoll to the north up to southern part of North Ari atoll (including famous Maya thila).
Here some most popular dives sites around Thoddoo, Ukulhas and Rasdhoo islands. Miyaru Faru
Type: drift
Depth: 10-30 м
Miyaru Faru, or Shark Reef, is a 5 km long reef wall. The wall attracts a large number of fish species: lion fish, moray eels, sweet-lips and porcupine fish. If you keep looking to the blue, you can spot some white tip sharks and grey sharks patrolling area. Bodu Miyaru Faru

Another good spot for watching sharks. Also, there are many cleaning stations where manta rays come for some hygiene procedures. North Channel

Water from the ocean brings a lot of food through relatively narrow "gates" inside of lagoon. No wonder why this place is always overcrowded. It's like an open bar for barracudas, tunas, lion fishes. Visibility sometimes can be down to 10 m, but chances to meet manta rays are good here. Veligandu North

Dive along reef wall, enjoy great views of rich coral life or look out in the blue for sharks. Pop up your safety baloon and finish your dive at big coral plateau watching fish and baby sharks playing around. Veligandu East

Another good entry point for a wall/drift dive. Lots of coral and rock formations. Such a temptation for underwater photographers (reef hooks are recommended). Sharks fans are also welcomed here. Madivaru Beyru

Outer reef of Madivaru island, also known as Picnic island. One of the best shark dive in this area. White tips and grey reef sharks are hosting the party. Don't forget your cameras! Hammerhead Point

One of the Rasdhoo atoll "must" dives. Can't get no sleep: we have to be at the site no later then 6:30 am. We descend till 30m and start cruising around, waiting for hammerheads to up from the abyss. Madivaru Corner

Depth: 15-30 м
One the deepest spots among our routes: wall goes down till 60+ meters! Bring your lamps. There might be some interesting things in the terraces and under overhangs. And yes, sharks are always there, too. Rasdhoo

Waters of wide channel are rich with plankton. This attracts plankton feeders such as manta rays. Channel walls are nicely decorated with corals and soft sponges. Sharks and stingrays just love to take a nap on sandy bottom. Fan Reef

A very nice wall with lots of small things to see. Coral formations is a great place for provide shelter for venomous stonefish, Morays stick their head out from their hideaways. Butterfly fish pick out food between the narrowest coral branches. With their elongated snout they feed on food sources that other species cannot reach. Red-teeth triggerfish dwell along the wall. Underwater landscapes changes as you dive promising some interesting encounters. Sandbanks, covered by coral build-ups, outer wall provided food and home for nudibranchs. Boduga (Bodu-gah)

Boduga in Dhivehi means "big stone", and all divers know why. There is a big rock underwater ascending from 20m up to the surface. One of the best places to dive with turtles. Grey and white tip sharks are often seen here, too. Kuramathi Wreck

40-meter long cargo ship sank some 30 years ago. Since then, it has become an artificial reef, overgrown with soft and hard corals, providing food and shelter to many fishes. Caves

There is a special place on the coral wall. Overhanging coral blocks created some tunnels and swim thru'es. Inside, you can meet some schools of glass fish and moray eels. Thoddoo West

West point of Thoddoo is another easy but interesting dive site. You can start either from coral garden or jump directly to the abyss. Both ways are very promising. Parrot fish, trigger fish, snappers, gruppers, barakudas and bat fishes are natural-born photo models. Turtle Beach

Depth: 5-30 м
Turtle Beach (or, sometimes, The Rock) is easily recognized by small rocky island. It's located quite close to the beach. Coral garden hangs over the drop-off to 30m. There are 2-3 turtles living here. Come for a dive with them. Good place for night dive, too. You can see hunting moray eels, octopuses, sometimes white tips. Vacation Home Corner

The best dive site on Thoddoo for check- and fun dives and also for snorkeling. You can dive it in many ways. Should you start your dive in the shallow coral garden or jump directly over the drop-off, it's up to you. Here you can see all kinds of fish - angel fish, trigger fish, parrot fish, surgeon fish, banner fish, giant moray eels, as well as stingrays, eagle rays and white tips. Two Towers

Yet another beautiful coral wall and a great drift dive. Stingrays, eagle rays, Napoleon wrasse, moray eels are often seen there. White tips are cruising the wall. Manta point

Located just few hundred feet from the harbour, this is one of the spots where we can meet mantas. Normally they come early morning (7-8 am) so if you wish to have a swim or a dive with these beautiful creatures, get ready for early wake up :)
